Technology and innovation for more sustainable growth
From sustainability commitments to measurable sustainability
At Infordata, sustainability is not separate from digital transformation. Data, software, artificial intelligence, IoT and traceability systems can help organisations understand their processes better, use resources more efficiently and make decisions based on measurable information.
As an Italian Benefit Corporation (Società Benefit) we have written common-benefit objectives into our business model, covering the environment, people, local communities, responsible supply chains, sustainable digitalisation and the responsible use of data and artificial intelligence. That commitment shapes both how we run the company and the technologies we build for customers and partners.
Our experience in automatic identification, traceability, monitoring, IoT and data analytics is increasingly applied to environmental challenges: water quality, ecosystem protection, wildfire prevention, circular economy, waste management, building efficiency and infrastructure monitoring.
Projects such as INSPIRE, REMEDIES, ReBuilt, Karst Firewall 5.0 and acquamArIna — all of them below — let us work alongside universities, research centres, companies and European institutions, turning research into platforms, sensors, decision-support tools, applications and monitoring systems that work in the field.
Making measurable what used to be hard to measure
Reliable data is one of the foundations of a real sustainability transition. IoT sensors, RFID, computer vision, digital platforms, analytics and AI help detect environmental and operational change, identify anomalies, trace assets and materials, monitor resource use and document the effect of what was done over time.
Technology does not make an organisation sustainable. It can give it the means to measure better, verify results and improve its decisions.
That is the role we want it to play: not simply digitising what already exists, but using innovation to make processes and infrastructure more efficient, transparent, resilient and measurable.
Sustainable digitalisation and responsible technology
Our commitment extends to how the technology itself is designed. We work to Green IT, infrastructure optimisation, longer device lifecycles, privacy and security by design, responsible AI and more transparent technology supply chains.
Our software platforms and professional services are developed and managed in Europe. Where the project allows, we also favour European infrastructure, data residency and partners, to strengthen data control, operational resilience and digital sovereignty.
Made in EU, for us, means knowing where the data sits, who operates the technology, which rules apply, and how continuity and interoperability are maintained over time.
Innovation is a collaborative process
Environmental and social challenges cannot be met alone. That is why we take part in European research and innovation programmes and work with universities, public authorities, companies, communities and technology partners.
The goal is to turn data and technology into practical tools for understanding what is happening, heading off problems, and supporting decisions that create economic, environmental and social value over the long term.

Climate adaptationWildfire risk on the Karst will keep rising: the Karst Firewall 5.0 research in Primorski dnevnik
A study from the cross-border Karst Firewall 5.0 project (Interreg Italy-Slovenia) finds that the Karst will be even more vulnerable to wildfires by 2040. More than two thirds of fires start within 50 metres of a road — a finding that opens the way to targeted prevention.

Infordata Sistemi S.r.l. builds ESG principles – Environmental, Social and Governance – into its management model and its operating choices.
We work to standards of legality, integrity, professionalism, transparency and accountability, with the aim of combining economic growth, care for people, sound governance and environmental sustainability.
For us sustainability is not something separate from the business. It is a criterion that shapes how we design services, select technologies and suppliers, manage data, and build long-term relationships with customers, partners and the area we work in.
In 2023 Infordata obtained its ESG assessment through Synesgy, the Cerved platform, beginning a structured path of measuring and improving its environmental, social and governance performance.
